The best textbook?
Sep. 25th, 2014 09:59 pmIt's a question both to the learners and teachers of Russian. A friend asked me to teach him Russian (I'm an English teacher). I tried looking through some of the books recommended on the web, but most didn't seem quite appealing. So what's your personal preference? What books did you use / are you using to learn and teach? Thanks.

Is the book/books I used for I believe the first two years. I'm not sure how they compare to others, however I seemed to do just fine with them (plus they come with a workbook that goes along with the sections, as well as an audio and video cd to help with listening. Plus this is the newer version (my very first semester's book was the old version, and you could tell from the dvd that is was filmed in the mid-90s. So a bit, uh, outdated should I say? Haha.), so it may have an upgrade to how it handles explanations.
