Please correct my pronounciation
May. 28th, 2012 07:16 pmHi!
Could you please correct my pronounciation? This time instead of a difficult text by Shukshin, I am reading my own text, which is for some reason easier. Progress is very slow now, so forgive me if I repeat the same kind of mistakes. Thank you!

Date: 2012-05-28 06:07 pm (UTC)Ja - Mne nravitsya!
Sobesednik - Ne nravitsya?
I think the trick is to say the M really hard?
What sounds best of the two alternatives (or are they both wrong), in this recording. http://soundcloud.com/amandalovkvist/jingckohh5e8
In the first one i am trying to say мъне and in the second мьне.
Sorry, but the languages is so beatiful, getting the pronounciation right is a bit like learning to dance ;-)

Date: 2012-05-28 07:15 pm (UTC)the first try sounds better. i think it's because the main idea of pronunciaton the word "мне" is to make the first letter hard (твёрдой)
and by the way, where did you learn to speak english that way? sounds beautiful) you are from Sweden, if i'm not mistaken...)

Date: 2012-05-28 09:38 pm (UTC)мама мне говорила - the stress should be on "говорила", not on "мама" (unless you want to emphasise that it was she, not someone else). Later, when you say "а мама говорит", then the stress on "мама" is correct.
But in general, your pronounciation is excellent!

Date: 2012-05-29 07:08 am (UTC)Some minor issues to work on:
- "приходит из" has to sound like "приходит ыз";
- "запомнила" has to be with a somewhat longer vowel sound in the first syllable, practically like a stressed 'А';
- your soft Ts and Ms are somewhat weird, as well (I would even assume that you pronounce the soft M like a hard one);
- you mispronounced "необычного" as "най-обычного" and "Владивостоке" as "Владовостоке" or something like this;
- and, of course, the above mentioned "мне".
And, eventually, for me your Щs sound absolutely perfect, I don't think there is something to improve.
Veeeery well done. \o/

Date: 2012-05-29 08:38 am (UTC)All mistakes of those few that you make were pointed out by previous commentators, and in general you pronounciation is near native-like.
How long have you been studying Russian for such results?)

Date: 2012-05-29 10:25 am (UTC)some issues with hard/soft consonants (including Ц which is always hard), and additional sound [i] (мне)
м[i]не говорила
м[i]не было лет
наве[э]рное
вращаются сами[ы]
влади[ы[востоке
ц / ц'
солнце приходит из России = OK
солнц[ц']и из Америки приходит ...
I've heard your text several times using my professional heaphones so you can trust to my opinion.

Date: 2012-05-29 10:52 am (UTC)"скоко мне было лет"
"токо один раз сказала"
that's absolutely alright when speaking at rather fast tempo :)
but since you read a previously written text, it would be better and more natural to pronounce "сколько/только"
anyway, your pronunciation and intonation are very very good. even your voice resembles a real Russian woman's voice.
just a little observation about logical stress: мама мне ГОВОРИЛА (not МАМА мне говорила).
