Hi All,

Sorry that my first post back after a long absence is an unpleasant one. Please don't click on the lj-cut link if you are easily offended.

I need to translate this word: недоебанный

I get that the nedo- means "incompletely [done]," but am entirely unclear how someone could mean "incompletely fucked," unless the implied threat is that "I'm going to finish the job."

Thanks for any help and insight you can provide.

- Heather

It means that the person in question does not have enough sex, implying that he or she is profoundly unappealing. If applied to woman, a woman naturally being first and foremost a sex object, means that she failed in the most important and indeed the only field where she actually could be worth anything.

however much I could criticize Russian society, for many reasons, including sexism, I can say I have never met a single person who would seriously mean to say that being a "sex object" is "the only field where a woman can be worth anything".

well, I thought it over again and as I said, no Russian I've ever met would say it seriously, but unfortunately, there are quite a few people in Russia who would think it a funny joke, though.

I always thought that woman having not enough sex suffers some derangement causing her to be aggressive above average level.

insert 'the person using this expression means that' after 'that'.

Sure, the word in question implies that, too.

"woman naturally being first and foremost a sex object"

Oh that's horrid nonsense.

And, Heather was certainly asking about недоёбанный, which is a masculine form of the word, and not a reference to a woman. what is "the only field where a man could be worth anything" then?

Next time I will use a "sarcasm" tag. Sorry for having confused you unintentionally.

Would you give the context or the phrase?

To add to the comment above, it's not always that complicated. A word such ебаный could be substituted in most of the contexts. For example, English motherfucker is used not to make an insult about an incest, but just an insult or even friendly banter, quite meaningless.

What is the context? This could be just an intensifier for words with negative evaluation. There is softer equivalent "недоделанный". if you say something like придурок недоделанный, you just want to intensify the word "придурок". I think that it works just like "fucking ..." in English.

Eeck, translating this? I hope it's a hobby and not what you are paid for. As you say, it looks like a stream of... ok, let's call it consciousness, for the want of a better word. Anyway, I'd say pidarazka is a simple insult modified to be addressed to a woman.

Sorry, I can't help with the second one. Some people use swearwords without understanding their real meaning or provenance. They enumerate all they know or heard in order to insult as much as possible. It cannot be analyzed. Some people really know how to manage swearwords and there are some situations where a swearword cannot be substituted by any other word because this is the best way to transmite the idea. This could be analyzed and would be interesting. Maybe, in your case, "pidarazhka" has already lost it's original meaning. Originally it was applied only to men. But the affix -ashka, which has pejorative connotation by itself, rhymes with so many names, both masculine and feminine, and nouns that it is used pretty often regardless the gender. For example, a popular pair Russhka-pidarashka. Russhka for Russia.

As for "nedo-" I agree with others that it could be used in its main meaning badly or not enough fucked. Just like in Spanish "mal follada", which is applied to a woman with bad temper, implying that she is not satisfied, has not enough sex. However, if you see that it is just a modifier that accompanies some insult it is just an intensifier and it can be both feminine and masculine.

Too much words. Sorry and good luck.

Second this. Just an intensifier rather than the deep sexist anti-feminine insult like in the 1st comment

Incompletely satisfied when having been fucked.

It can be easily applied to different areas, not to sex only.

Please be aware that "недоебанный" is arrogant word.
For example, I normally dont accept if men use such wording when talking to me. :-)

Usualy uses as the bad word to critisize the unreasonable behavior of the person. It means that the reason of this - is the lackage of sex.

But... Very bad word - never should use it)

The noun is недоёб. A few typical examples:

- Народ в ЖЖ частенько использует "недоеб", как аргумент в споре. Мол, у нее недоеб, поэтому она [подставить любое значение]. А я вам вот что скажу: пойдите и доебите. У них, этих несчастных женщин, отчего недоеб? оттого, что не доебли. Такие же, как вы, не доебли. Можно сказать, вы сами и не доебли. Так пойдите и доебите!
http://ivan-da-marya.livejournal.com/272189.html

- Почему некий "недоеб" является единственным объяснением всего многообразия неприемлимого поведения или мировоззрения? Где последствия перееба?
http://lj.rossia.org/users/kuniza/488187.html

- Недоеб - понятие широкое. Это не просто тупо отсутствие секса. Это состояние души. Бабу (слово женщина здесь неуместно) с перманентным недоебом узнаешь в толпе сразу.

[livejournal.com profile] voleala is absolutely right. Some people prefer to use some modified swearwords as a kind of substitute. Such modified swearwords sound very strange for non-native speakers.
For example, try to translate this song correctly.
