For the record, back when Bush was president, there was also a bumper sticker that said a Texas village was missing an idiot. So humor does not discriminate.

Not you, sorry - the author of the essay. I guess the commenter wanted to express the same point as you: that there is nothing racist in the "village missing an idiot" sticker and saying there is just because it mentions Kenya is stretching the point.
