I listen to the news and watch shows too, but when I am doing other things on the computer, I just want it in the background and not be so.. boring.

There are lots of different styles, I'll give you the most famous examples. All three are famous, all three are very different. Asking questions about them would be very rewarding in order to "get" Russian culture.
