Привет!

This question is probably more for those who are learning Russian than the native speakers in the community—can someone recommend a good audio trainer that covers more than just basic stuff?

I already own this and this CD (basic vocabulary, 600 words each), as well as this and this set (2100 words and phrases each, basic and slightly advanced). All of these cover the basic vocabulary—furniture, household, animals, nature, weather, feelings, expression, doing things, etc.; what I'd be looking for now is something slightly advanced, either vocabulary or phrases/grammar; preferably audio CDs, because I'm looking for something to put on my iPod. Russian-English would be fine, too.

Thank you и спасибо in advance!

How many words do you know already? Do you know some 2000+ of them?
And how well do you know the grammar (all the cases and word inflexions)?
Can you read and understand text w/o excessive use of a dictionary (e.g. need to look up at most 5% of words on a page)?

If you are still doing poorly with these, then audio trainers may be of very little help to you since to recognize words you need to know them in the first place and then have an idea where they may appear with respect to one another. I began recognizing and understanding well English and Spanish speech on the TV only when I'd built a pretty decent vocabulary, learned the grammar and had no problems with reading.
