Yes. I can't think of any case where this word could have been used in the plural.

It IS singular in a sense, since it is a collective noun (singularia tantum). Same as "темнота" (darkness), etc. These words cannot be made plural.

The word классики (whcih is plural) is the plural of классик - "a classic" meaning a particular person who created the classic.
