There is a slang verb that I think is associated with the slang adverb/adjective прискольно –– something like прикалывать. As in Они прикалывают... I think it means something like -- they're just messing around or they're joking around or being weird. Anyway, could someone tell me what the word is and what it means? Thanks!

The verb is reflexive: прикалываться (он прикалывается, они прикалываются etc.) Yep, it means "to joke about something or somebody, to fuck around".

Они прикалывают = they fasten (fix) something
Они прикалываются = they're joking; they make fun and etc.
Прикол = joke, draw, prank
Прикольно = it's fun, cool, great, etc.

Прикалывать sometimes' equal to рассказывать.
For Ex. На концерт вчера ходил? Приколи как это было! - Been to a concert yesterday? Tell me 'bout it.

Very rarely used or wrong example.

Better one:
- Приколись, даже группа ХХХХХ была!
- Imagine, even XXXXX group was there!

If you don' know this, it doesn't mean that such variant is non-existent.
Так не бывает, чего ты мне прикалываешь?! - It can't be! What are you telling me here?!

Different words, different meanings. Not sure what you are trying to prove with this.

«Так не бывает, чего ты мне прикалываешь?!» ― I have never heard it (I'm 28 yo). I would say «Так не бывает. Что ты мне рассказываешь?» или «Так не бывает. Что ты прикалываешься?».

I would not use dative case (мне) in such phrases. Accusative case (меня) sounds better to me:
«Меня это не прикалывает» ― It makes no fun, I'm not interested in it.
«Меня не прикалывает работать по субботам» ― I see no fun to work on Saturdays, I don't want to.

My suggestions:
― if the subject of the sentence is animate then use reflexive form (прикалываться),
― if it is inanimate, use simple form (прикалывать) with an animate object in accusative case.

Да не гони, все на районе так говорят.
- Вчера движуха была!
- Ну, приколи?
или

Он вчера мне приколол, как во Владик съездил.
И т.д.
Значит рассказывать.

Ну, во Владике так точно говорят, да и в Москве.
Скорее наверное кавказский сленг.
Но то что так говорят это сто процентов)

Прикол = joke, interesting, surpriseous thing.
прикольный = funny, interesting, surpriseous, unusual.
For example: (Например:)
Ты прикольный! (You are interesting!) Писать одному человеку с двух почтовых ящиков - настоящий прикол. (It's a good joke to send letters to one man from two mailboxes.)
