What is the difference between прислать и послать?
Which is better for saying "You've already sent me the visa invitation (it is understand that it is via e-mail)" ?

Прислать feels more complete than послать. I.e., if someone прислал мне письмо, it means the letter is already here, I've received it. If someone послал мне письмо, it means only that this someone have sent it, I might have not received it yet, or even won't ever.

Отправить, to me, seems pretty much the same as послать.

*has sent it, sorry. Seems like I'm asleep already.

Он послал (отправил, выслал) мне приглашение - He has sent me the invitation (but I haven't received it yet).
Он прислал мне приглашение - He has sent... (and I've got it already).

послать, отправить - send out
прислать when in the past tense (прислал) implies that it has already arrived.

I would say "прислать" about the thing which has already reached the addressee (or I know it will reach in a moment, like "I'll send you a link" - "Я пришлю тебе ссылку") and "послать" or "отправить" about something which is sent, but I don't know if it has reached the place (or I don't care).
In your example I'd say "Вы уже присылали мне приглашение". Or even "Я уже получил от Вас приглашение" :)

For telling someone to go to hell you can only use послать: "послать к черту".

or even more derogatory expressions: "послать на фиг/хер/х*й" = tell someone to fuck off

Я - посылаю, мне - присылают. Вот и вся разница.

Я пошлю тебе подарок.
А какой ты мне пришлешь подарок?

Please note that the working language of this community is English.

Besides, what you say is not true. It is also possible to say я прислал письмо, я пришлю тебе подарок and он послал письмо, он пошлет мне подарок. The difference has nothing to do with я/ты.

послать, отправить - send off; отправить is more 'technical', like 'post'
прислать - send in
