I was writing a letter to a friend in Russian, and got all mixed up with whether I should use perfect or imperfect tense. Say if you're discussing about something that's happening tomorrow, it should be in perfect tense, right? Like this-

Завтра они приедут - They will come tomorrow
встретятся они с детьми- They will meet with the children tomorrow

Another  question I have, say you want to say, I am going with his friends.

Я поиду с его дузьями.

should the word его also be changed to instrumental case?

When его means his (rather than him), it never changes form, so there is no instrumental version of this word.

Это он и его друзья. = This is he and his friends.
Подарки для него и его друзей. = Gifts for him and his friends.
Подарки подарили ему и его друзьям. = The gifts were presented to him and his friends.
Я видел и его, и его друзей. = I saw him and his friends.
Я пойду с ним и его друзьями. = I'll go with him and his friends.
Мне рассказали о нём и его друзьях. = I was told about him and his friends.

Future perfect:
Они сделают это завтра. ~ They will have done it tomorrow.
Они приедут завтра. ~ They will arrive tomorrow.

Future imperfect:
Они будут делать это завтра. ~ They will be doing it tomorrow.
Они будут приезжать завтра. Grammatically it's correct, but "будут приезжать" makes no sense in this case, because "приезжать" is a completed action by itself, but...
Они будут приезжать сюда каждое лето. ~ They will come here every summer, they will do it over and over again.

Present imperfect:
Они делают это завтра. ~ They are doing it tomorrow. They are to do it tomorrow.
Они приезжают завтра. = They are coming tomorrow. They are going to arrive tomorrow.

Future perfect:
Завтра они встретятся с детьми. ~ They will meet with (or just see) the children tomorrow.
Завтра я выучу испанский алфавит. ~ Tomorrow I will learn up the Spanish alphabet.

Future imperfect:
Завтра они будут встречаться с детьми. "Встречаться" (to meet, to come see) is the imperfect verb, but it implies more or less a complete action. You cannot "be coming to see" somebody all day long, so this sentence is grammatically right but logically wrong. However you may say:

Они будут встречаться с детьми каждые выходные. ~ They will come see the children every weekend.
Завтра они будут учить детей плавать. ~ Tomorrow they will teach children to swim.
Завтра я буду учить испанский. ~ Tomorrow I will learn Spanish.

Present imperfect:
Завтра они встречаются с детьми. ~ They are going to see the children tomorrow.
