Years ago, I was in Ukraine. I fell in love with "morse." I was told that there is no English translation. However, if anyone knows the Latin name or the English equivalent for the клюква berry or клюквенный морс. I am sorry for the horrible spelling, but my Russian is a bit rusty.

Thank you!

There is none. I was trying to find the same thing here, tried pretty much every cranberry drink, to no avail. I guess your best chance would be going to some Russian or Polish store and buy the original thing.

Клюква is cranberry (-ies). Yandex.Slovari proposes "cranberry water" for клюквенный морс.

...and major producer's site (http://www.wbd.com/profile/structure/) evades the word, calling morses "traditional berry-juice-based drinks".

These people use "mors" as a translation for "морс". But I suppose that they are in no way native English speakers.

Rosencrantz... rushed into the room, beaming with pride. He said that he was the one chosen by Death, for an obvious, undubitable Sign had been given. He told them about him having had a meal in Alyabyev's eating house in Petrov(skay)a st. When the dinner was all but finished a carafe of a blood red liquid was served "at the restaurant's own expence".
"What is it?" Rosencrantz asked.
The waiter answered "with a quaint smile":
"You know what — Mors."

The moral is: be careful when looking for a Latin equivalent of the subj ;)

i get a morse-like substance from mixing health food store cranberry juice (all natural, no sugars, even frozen cranberries run through a mixer) and mixing it with water. It's tart, it's not too sweet, and it tastes more like morse than most 'juices' on the market.
