I was hoping someone would be able to guide me in corrections to this email I'd like to send. Normally, I'd ask my grandparents but I'd like to try here first. Also, if this sounds polite instead of pushy. I've been hearing that aside from Вы, Americans tend to be much more formal. Anyway.



Тоже хотела спрашивать вам если можно остаться с вами для три месяца. Я получила бесплатный "internship" для искусство в Москве. Знаю что это долго время остаться но я могу заплатить за все мои вещи. Ну если это труда вас что я была там так догло пожалуйста скажите!

Я знаю, что три месяца это очень долго, но я могу заплатить за все свои вещи (this is not clear - do you mean that you are offering to pay for your belongings, or were you trying to say that you will pay for your stay?) Если вам неудобно, чтобы я жила у вас так долго - пожалуйста, скажите!

If you pay for your stay, you'd better say заплатить за свое проживание or заплатить вам за беспокойство и возместить расходы (this is, I think, more polite).

Don't worry, your original version was, though not being grammatically perfect, pretty clear, except for "paying for your things" moment.

Well, how does one expect the OP's grandparents to understand that? Was it about paying the rent, simple provision of money in exchange for meals and roof, or spend a fortune for the grandparents' sake? Mayhaps, it's about compensation for some havoc soon to be brought about?

Well, I don't know if it's formal or pushy. It strongly depends on the kind of terms you are on with the people you write to.
It is hard to give sound advice. Still, the last part seems to me to hint of blackmailing (although, it might be an overestimation), I hate to naturally phrase things like that.

Like, you know, people, of course you can abandon me in this, but then at least write to me about it. You wouldn't tell me, if I don't ask you, I know! So I do ask you directly. When you're betraying my helpless self, do come clean immediately! I wouldn't ask for your help, if I had a house of my own.

Deny it or not, there's an option of devising such evil thoughts from careless phrases :].
But exclamation in the original text looks so out of place for me, anyways.

I should have mentioned that the recipient of this email is my aunt. I really hope she doesn't think I'm trying to blackmail her! ; )
