I'd say с любопытства is strongly colloquial, if acceptable at all. С instead of из is indeed used, but in a limited number of cases (с тоски, со скуки).

There must be something wrong with your search. I just tried it. "Из любопытства" - 649 thousand pages, "с любопытства" - 2509 pages.

"С любопытства" might be Ukrainian or ukrainians' take on Russian or some odd dialect of Russian. I'd say it's indeed unacceptable.

Did you mean "с любопытством"? Because as far as I know there is no such thing as "с любопытства".
С любопытством - with interest
из любопытства - because I was curious.
