Can anyone recommend any e-books that have fairly simple language? I read and understand Russian fairly well but with more complicated language sometimes get lost. If you know of a link to download it, that would be even better. Thanks!

I'd recommend to start with short stories, like "Легенды невского проспекта".

Weller is a self-centered dick, and it shows. I'd not recommend such a person for initial reading, it can give wrong impression. ;)

Maksim Moshkov's library has a wide variety of literature in Russian. I would poke around a little bit to find something fairly simple.

I think you must try Sheffner, he's some kind of Russian Bradbury/Shekley. Very simple, beautiful, and ironic.

Also you may try Strugatskie, for example, this book (http://rusf.ru/abs/books/tbb00.htm). It's harder, but not too sophisticated.

Also I forgot to mention plays of Eugene Schwartz - you can try this - http://shvarts.komedia.ru/books/drakon.html

From modern fantasy books by far the best is this - http://zhurnal.lib.ru/a/anna_a_k/carmarthen.shtml - from my point of view, the language isn't too complicated, though you can miss some inside jokes.
