Dear brave and admirable foreigners who dare to learn this wonderful and awful language!
It's really great, even precious when you start feeling language, improvising.... I would encourage everybody to do it!
But sometimes just be careful... I can't help sharing it, it's too good, sorry for the off-top...
I wrote on Skype to my student. And he answered:
Дай меня секунду. Я имею на телефоне моя маму (У меня есть моя мама в телефоне?)
Ones again - I sincerely admire those learning Russian.

He meant "I have my mom on the phone" - he is talking on the phone to his mom.

It does, because machine translators and people who don't know the language translate in a similar way: they just replace word after word with their equivalents from another language. Of course, this never works.
