learn_russianHey ya'll, I thought I'd introduce myself first, since I've never posted here before:
The name's Boris---19-year-old sophomore at the University of Michigan---double majoring in psychology and Russian language, literature, and culture---double minoring in criminal justice and epistemology.
I was born in Kishinev (now Chişinău), Moldova and moved to Michigan when I was 5. Spoke only Russian for the first 5 or 6 years of my life, before learning English, and now I'm fluent in German, Yiddish, and Esperanto, and can understand Ukranian, Hebrew, and Aramaic.
Feel free to ask me anything, and add me to your friends list if you'd like.

So even though I'm completely fluent in Russian, there are small grammatical problems that creep up on me here and there, and I haven't been able to resolve this one for a while (my professors aren't having classes because of a GSI strike here the next couple days)
ANYWAY, question time--
What is the proper way to fully spell out dates in sentences such as:
"В 1859-1861 годах многие знаменитые ученые познакомились с Дмитрием Ивановичем Менделеевым"
"Художник Илья Репин жил...(конец, 19 век-начало, 20 век)"
"...Славяно-греко-латинская академия, в которой с 1735 по 1735 гг. учился М. Б. Ломоносов"
(I took these examples out of my textbook, "Russian for Russians" by Olga Kagan et al.
I just can't figure out what endings the numericals should have, I'd appreaciate any assistance!

...академия, в которой с тысяча семьсот тридцать пятого по тысяча семьсот тридцать пятый (sounds strange) год учился...
