Mar. 6th, 2008 10:48 pmHello!
I have now recorded about a minute and a half of my spoken Russian. But I can't post it here! I can post it to my journal, and to friend groups, but not directly in the learn_russian. And I really don't want to post it publicly in my journal, my friends will laugh at me, (because I sing a song as well!).
So please, anybody who is willing to help me with my russian pronounciation, please comment to this post, and I will put you in a special friend group, and only you will be able to listen to the post.
I would be so thankful, because I dont have any Russian friends that are linguists, and they don't know themselves how they speak, (if I ask them how a combination of words is pronounced they just say it slowly, one word at a time).

Date: 2008-03-06 10:57 pm (UTC)The only problem which shows is the endings of the following type: -нья, --нье, -ния, -ние - you tend to slightly exaggerate them, they need to be a fraction of a bit shorter, and the divider (разделительный мягкий знак) does not need to be accented THIS clearly. But it's really a very small problem, and does not make your accent irritating. I'd say it's a very slight and more or less charming Nordic accent :) And I bet it's much, much better Russian than my spoken English :))

Nice singing :)
The ONLY trace of the accent that shows is in КГБ word - you pronounce it as ка-ге-бе while it's really ка-гэ-бэ - both э, especially the second one (since it's under stress,) should be more open and deep.
That's all. The rest is a native speaker singing. Good ear :)

Date: 2008-03-06 11:04 pm (UTC)And for the comments, I will work on that.
Once i wanted to by n albom of DDT, and they gave me albums with childrens songs "Dlya DeTej"! I guess I pronounced it VERY soft.:-)

Date: 2008-03-06 11:09 pm (UTC)I guess thats why people think I'm saying NE NRAVITSYA, when i say MNE NRAVITSYA. When I make the NE too soft and too long they cant hear the M. I sometimes say мнэ нравится to avoid that missunderstanding...
I will work om that.
