Hi there all! I was wondering, if anyone could tell when I use "так как" and "потому что?" Спасибо!

"так как" is, generally, where you'd use "as" or "since" in English.

also, you can't begin a sentence with "потому что" (or "ибо"), but you can with "так как" (or "поскольку").

Avoid using Ибо because it is a joke ) It's obsolete form.

Well, "ибо" is used a lot when people wanna sound pompous. It's not obsolete, it's just specific.

I generally use "потому что" when I answer on somebody's question started with the word "почему?".
For example:
-Почему ты опоздал?
-Потому что стоял в пробке*.
*пробка=traffic jam
And you can't begin a sentence with "потому что" as user above said, but can do it with "так как".
