Not Gonna Own Me (a song lyric)

Hello, Russian-experts:

Several weeks ago a Russian university student (a punk rock musician) contacted this forum asking whether someone would be willing to write some English lyrics for a song of his. I agreed; he sent me a midi, and I finished them this weekend. It's got a tough sound, a sort of punk in-your-face, I'm-my-own-man, nothing-will-take-me-down kind of feeling to it.

His English is really limited, as is my Russian. I want to provide a Russian translation to help him understand the two key phrases in the song:

"Not gonna let it own me"
"No damn way you're ever going to own me" (speaking to negative events in life)

Here is an excerpt of my lyrics, so you get the idea:

Night in the park (not gonna let it own me)
Gun to my head (not gonna let it own me)
Day in the dark (not gonna let it own me)
Love in my bed (not gonna let it own me)
Knowing it’s near (not gonna let it own me)
Crushed by the load (not gonna let it own me)
Losing my fear (not gonna let it own me)
End of the road (not gonna let it own me)

I would like to be able to give the Russian equivalent of "not going to let it own me." Keep in mind he has access to this forum, so please keep your comments kind about punk rock music. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you need a literary translation, I would translate as "Я не прогнусь" or "Я не сломаюсь".
something like that.
