Well, I got an "Alien" in the first one because I was born after most of the questions. I also got a "Not RU" in the second one because I don't watch TV and most of questions are about modern pop-culture. I assume I cannot be called a cultural bearer of modern Russia. :(

It's quite easy and fine.
First of all, you need to write correctly, since these tests don't have spell checking for input, so even right answer with a mistype doesn't counts.
And you don't have to watch TV for answers, all questions based on Russian proverbs or on very popular movies or songs, - you must know these if you're living in Russia.

So did I, and I'm Russian! Well, I was well enough with the second one, but the first one is for Soviet madmen. It's for those who watch the TV day and night anyway. You wouldn't, trust me.

I never watched TV all day long but passed first test. It was quite easy. Moreover - many questions have nothing to do with TV - they are from songs and proverbs.

Anyway - don't forget this test is made for fun. ;--)

Very mmm... stupid tests. I live in moscow (aha, no capital letter) for all my 25 years, but:

Level: total questions/minimum right answers/given right answers
1: 47/30/31
2: 36/25/18
3: 38/25/17
4: 46/30/15
5: 35/20/3

So... To pass this test you should: watch a lot of soviet TV and read soviet newspapers. It's totally explainable: government needs 'zombies', that would definitly watch a lot of TV and read newspapers.

About my failure: well... I never did any of this two stupid buisness;) Of course I had success at some parts of test - just for old soviet comedies and some soviet and modern movies and music.

So stupid mistakes - сто раз instead of just сто (attention!), в списках не значится instead of не значился, and - the most offensive - confused the places of день and ночь:)

The test is funny and it's not a test of being Russian or not - just a test of knowing some popular phrases from movies, songs and so on. Strange that some people take it seriously.

In fact it has nothing to do with this community either. I'd say it's complete off-topic here. ;--)

i did that test a year ago and I became nelegal too (but I am not russian, so...). But then again, I kind of was nelegal, I am not sure all my papers were in order at that precise moment...:-).
when i did a test on partijnaya prinadlezhnost', i got Patrioty Rossii on second place... maybe that can make up for beeing nelegal...
