Hi! I dont' really understand the gammar here, in this Zemfira song. Why "остался"? shouldent it be "остались" or at least "осталось"? But I can clearly hear, she's singing "остался" (live album - can she simply be making a misstake?!) .

герой погибнет в начале повести
и мне остался его сомнения
я напишу о нём стихотвoрение

Thanks everyone! Now I've learnt that she might be making a misstake by purpose / might be singing ostalisya / is actualy singing ostanutsya but with an L and without the U and T... (If she sang ostanutsya, that's what I would hear, since it makes sence...)

In short: I've learnt it is a mystery not just for me!!!!

Thank you... it is not the only song of hers in wich I can't really make things add upp... Is it like poetic?.. she is using the male and not the neutral to kind of say that his doubts is in fact he himself....:-) i t would make sence with the following line...!

since my native language is Swedish and we dont use genders in the same way (not for verbs at all, and male and female is the same when it comes to adjectives) i can't grasp when people play with it.

(we have two grammatic genders: two neutrals! One of wich is the original neutral and one of wich is the former male and female, but they are now the same - the "reale"),

Excuse me, are you really sure about her singing? In all lyrics in the internet it's "останутся" (for example, here http://polbu.ru/songtext_r/Zemfira___Lyubovj_kak_sluchajnaja_smertj.htm)
Maybe she just sings it faster, so it seems like "остался"...

Well, I don't remember that song, but I can easily image how she can sing "остантся", eating the vowel "у", in which case it will sound pretty like "остался" to a foreign ear.

Please keep in mind that Zемфира often intonates her songs incorrectly in terms of the language/meaning.
She makes pauses in very unexpected places and doesn't make them where they shoul be. She also likes
to save words by concatenating two separate sentences.

An example:

Sounds like this:
"Я буду ждать, ты звони. (a pause here)
В мои обычные шесть я стала старше на треть, наверно, нужно учесть (a pause here, why?) корабли в моей гавани..."

Actually means:
"Я буду ждать, ты звони в мои обычные шесть (часов).
Я стала старше на треть - наверно, нужно (это) учесть.
Корабли - в моей гавани..."

yaeh, we have different verison. on the Zemfira live abum she sings olstalsya or ostal(i)sya,
I thought stixotvorenie(m), first. It sounds like an m at the end, but it is probably just some nasal sound...:-)
