how might you say:

the garden has flooded (i.e the garden is swollen with water)

all the words for flooding i can find seem to pertain to rivers themselves flooding.

just a small question, thanks in advance.

Flood - потоп; to flood - затапливать (imperf.), затопить (perf.), also наводнить (mostly metaphorically). The garden has flooded - сад затопило.

You can say: "Сад затопило" or: "Сад был затоплен", or even: "Сад был залит водой".
