Could you please provide your comments regarding the below sentences?

1. "Всё то, что он рассказал, интересное и новое"

2. "Всё то, что он рассказал, интересно и ново"

Which one is correct, and why?

Why is the other one wrong?

I think, the second one sounds better. If I remember correctly, there's no strict rules, how to use short and full form of adjectives. It's just question of accents in the sentence and how it sounds. In your case, the second sentence is better and is traditional, though I can't say, that the first one is totally wrong, it's just uncommon.

Do you think the comma plays a role? I'm thinking the short form is better suited when used without the comma.

For example: Нам было всё интересно и ново, что он рассказал. Or maybe the difference is that the short form indicates greater subjectivity, i.e. what he said was interesting to us, maybe not to others, and not in and of itself. Yes. I think that's it. I'll go with the short form. Thank you.

No, it definitely doesn't depend on comma, there could be lots of cases, where you would put long form of adjective after it.

#2, because the short form of an adjective can play the role of a verb in a sentence, unlike the full form. I am not very good at explaining grammar in English, sorry.

Всё, что он рассказал (better without то) - вещи интересные и новые.
If you want to use the full form, it should be smth like this.
The second variant (with the short form) is the best of all three, though.

I believe, the first form is valid if written with a dash (French "tiret"):

"Всё то, что он рассказал - интересное и новое"

The intonation must be corresponding. I mean, for instance, the pause after "рассказал".

The second form is fine as it is, although sounds a bit old-fashioned.

I agree with towarysc on that his version withot "то" is the best, although the
word "вещи" may be unwanted in some contexts.

Well, remember about the verb "to be" (есть), that partially disappear from russian language not too long ago. Adjective интересное refers to a noun: всё интересное, while adverb интересно refers to a verb: это [есть] интересно.

In this light, the first phrase could be translated into English as: "All this, that he told, new and interesting". Alone it sounds weird without a continuation: "всё то, что он рассказал, новое и интересное, мне уже было известно".

The second one means a different thing: "All this, that he told, IS new and interesting". To my understanding, this is really what you wanted to say. In this case my sense of native speaker says that this version is better than the other one.
