Russian as a foreign language for children

Hello,

Can anyone recommend any course books or other resources for teaching Russian to children with no basic knowledge (English speakers)? Any advice would be appreciated.

no resources, but I'd like to knwo what you find. I had a baby two months ago and I'd like to teach him Russian. I talk to him but it's hard since baby talk isn't covered in any Russian classes I've ever had :)

I suppose not :)) I am not very optimistic about finding anything for small children. My daughter is seven and I am still struggling. If I find anything I'll let you know.

I bought myself a copy of 'First Thousand Words in Russian' which is aimed at children with great pictures and even a find the duckie contest on each page to engage you them... not that I've looked for the duckie *embarrassed*

Yes, I have this book. It is quite good. What I am looking for now is something systematic to be used as a guidance as to what grammar and vocabulary to introduce and how.

It's great that you mentioned this book. I have found it on the Internet, but was not sure, as it has this subtitle: for children fo the Russian speaking emigrants. What exactly does it mean? Are the children supposed to have any knowledge or understanding of spoken Russian? I am looking for something from level zero when the child only knows about ten words in Russian, such as спасибо, привет, пока, девочка, мальчик, папа, мама, баба, деда, телефон + counts to ten. That's it :))

Предполагается, что дети дома слышат русский язык, а вне дома общаются на другом языке. С самых первых уроков предлагается учить ребенка говорить, читать и писать одновременно. Первый раздел - обучение алфавиту, второй - грамматические темы. Много стихов, картинки-раскраски, письменные упражнения.
