I'm taking Salsa lessons at a local nightclub. Say I were to see a fine female Russian major at the club again this weekend, how would one say "Salsa" in Russian? Is it a cognate?

"Ты танцуешь Салсу тоже?"

Is this right?

Don't feel too bad about that. Being a native speaker I didn't know it should have been there :)

By the way, if the fine female will be just a student of the language, she should be quite indulgent to minor grammar and especially pronunciation flaws. :)

As far as I know, "салса" and "сальса" are almost equally used. But as for spicy mexican stuff, it's always "сальса".

Negative. There is a common practice to use "сальса" for salsa dance among russian salseros.

welll.. You know what?
'Salsa' is an uncountable noun in English...
And I'm afraid it has no plural form in Russian as well
