Hi all, I'm new to this community, and a first year Russian student. This is a very basic question... :)

I've created email labels and I want to make sure that they're correct. It's a little confusing because I'm not sure if these words decline when they're used as email labels.

друзья
живом журнале
нэтфликс
работа
семья
школа

Thank you!

Close - it's живой журнал, or simply ЖЖ. And I would say учёба instead of школа. Everything else looks good.

живой журнал – use the nominative

нетфликс would be more natural, as э tends to be used for the English "a" as in cat.

if they're email labels, where and how could they be declined anyway?

Only if you wanted to be pedantic about it – and in that case, a genitive would not be enough. The Russian genitive is not like the Latin ablative, it can't be used on its own to express the idea of coming from somewhere. And the prepositions you'd have to use would vary somewhat. You'll end up with:

от друзей
из живого журнала
с нетфликса
с работы
от семьи
из школы

Now the question is, why bother? :) As they are, the labels sound perfectly natural.
