Apr. 9th, 2007 08:53 pmthanks to all of you who helped me out with my poem problems. It turned out to be Утес by Михаил Лермонтов.
Sadly, it is our final day of russian class on friday, and we are all celebrating with a pot luck. So do you guys have any suggestions on what I should make for the pot luck? Im looking for something easy, that I can't screw up, perhaps a cake?

Date: 2007-04-10 03:13 am (UTC)5-6 medium potatoes, 1-2 medium carrots, boiled in jacket
1-2 hard-boiled eggs
1 onion, 1 apple - raw
some boiled chicken breast or bologna (about 1/2 cup when diced)
canned green peas, about 1/2 cup, drained
2-3 medium pickles
peel and dice everything (do not peel pickles though) into small cubes, the smaller the better
add salt, pepper and mayonnaise

Date: 2007-04-11 12:46 pm (UTC)ok... so technically olivie is the eastern european veresion and olovie is the spelling of the central asian (iraqi, irani...etc) version.
I'm surrounded by both cultures.
sometimes it's confusing.
