slightly silly question, but how would one say 450? I've never been very good at hundreds.

четиресот пятдесять?

also, would anyone happen to know where I could hear a Russian alphabet song. You know the type, the things people teach their kids so they can learn the language. I have never really learned the alphabet, or rather what order it all goes in, and I'm thinking it might be smart to learn that before much longer.

четыреста пятьдесят

declension applies to both words: четырёхсот пятидесяти (genitive), четырёмста пятидести (dative) etc.

Actually, all three 2-digit numbers below 40: десять, двадцать, тридцать. Сорок (40) is another story, and then you have пятьдесят, шестьдесят, семьдесят etc.
Why don't you look up a dictionary first? it's all there :))

My russian prof taught me this: all russian numbers can only have one soft sign. that's why "shest'decyat" doesn't have one at the end (there's one in the middle).

450 pound squid would be "четырёхсотпятидесятифунтовый кальмар" or "кальмар весом в четыреста пятьдесят фунтов". Not that anybody in Russia counts in pounds, though, so you may want to transfer pounds into kilograms first (one pound is close to 0.4 kg.)

AFAIR there is no Russian alphabet song, at least widely used.
There are, however, several poems for children about the alphabet.
It was discussed about 1.5 years ago:

The alphabet IS important :) Just as the multiplication table is important in maths.
