Hello again! This time, I am trying to write about myself, which is a difficult task in one's own language, let alone a foreign one! Hopefully I don't sound too scary in the following, although my grammar's probably scary enough. It's also sounding like a personal ad ... which is not exactly what I was going for, but I'm not sure if I can make it sound any differently.

Any help is appreciated. You guys have been amazing in the past!



Где начинать? Кажется странно, для меня описывать себя к вам, но я сделаю всё от себя зависящее.

Я девушка девятсати лет, которая любит свои приобретение знаний, свою семью, и своего Бога. У меня лёгкий характер, за исключением когда мне надо будить рано утром – тогда я часто раздражительная, потому что мне вполне не нравится будить! Иначе, я стараюсь сделать себя добрая, ласковая и внимательная в моём жизне, вспоминая и плоди же духа и как моя мама учила меня. Не думайте, однако, что я тихий, скрытный человек – всюду незнакомцы, может быть, но всюду мои друзья я хивая, несдержанная и разговорчивая – возможно слишком разговорчивая! Я не шучу очень хорошо, но я смеюсь много. Прогуляться, иметь приключение с друзьями, погрузиться, с головой уйти в учёном томе, мне нравится веселиться. Я надеюсь, что я не хвастун или эгоист, но я не думаю, что мы когда-либо знаем это о себе; я стараюсь сделать себя скромная, щердая и ответственная. Моя природная склонность ленивая и неряшливая, хотя, если бы даже я стараюсь очень много научиться быть прилежная, трудолюбивая и добросовестная. Повсюду, я интеллектуальная, шутко-любивая девушка из Калифорнии, которая страстная о своим жизне и люди в жизне.

Where to begin? It seems odd to describe myself to you, but I will do my best.

I am a nineteen-year-old girl who loves her studies, her family, and her God. I have an easy-going disposition, except when I have to get up early in the morning - then I am apt to be irritable, because I thoroughly dislike waking up. Otherwise, I strive to be kind, affectionate, and courteous in my daily life, remembering both the fruits of the spirit and how my mother taught me. Don’t think, however, that I am a quiet, reserved person – around strangers I may be, but around my friends I am lively, unrestrained, and talkative – perhaps too talkative! I don’t joke very well, but I laugh a lot. Whether it is taking a walk, having an adventure with friends, or immersing myself deep in a scholarly tome about the Great War, I love to have fun. I hope I am not a braggart or a selfish person, but I don’t think we ever know that about ourselves; I strive to be modest, generous, and responsible. My natural tendency is to be lazy and messy, although I am trying very hard to learn to be diligent, industrious, and neat. Overall, I am an intellectual, fun-loving young woman from California, who is passionate about her life and the people in it.

"В общем" or "В-общем"? The latter was recommended by natha1ie.

В-общем is an obvious mistake. Not any native speaker is qalified as a language expert, you see. It's в общем. You have to write "во-первых, во-вторых, в-третьих, в-четвертых..." (firstly, secondly, etc.), but this is the ONLY case when a hyphen is needed in such constructions. All other cases (в общем, в целом, в результате, etc.) require no hyphen.
