What is the difference between снова, опять, and any other words for “again” that you can think of?

The difference is very slight; in most cases «снова», «вновь», «опять» mean the same.

It’s not spelled that way; ещё is pronounced /ɪ'ʃtʃo/, the same way that ищо would be, were it a word, which I don’t believe it is.

To my knowledge щ does not actually produce a /ʃtʃ/ sound but more of an extra long /ʃ/, but palatized where the regular /ʃ/ is always hard.

It's a matter of register. The long /ʃ/ has been popular for over a century, but /ʃtʃ/ is still considered the educated pronunciation, even if no one uses it.

In the 19th century classical Russian literature the way you spelled ещё was considered the most obvious sign of how educated you were. A bad student's signature spelling was истчо.

раз за разом = time after time, over and over again etc.
еще = more, once more
заново = anew, afresh, from scratch
еще раз = one more time

there is a saying "не опять, а снова" which is really a joke because "опять" and "снова" are synonyms.

I was told that, if you have to differentiate (and this could be wrong), снова and вновь are most like "anew" - that is, something that stopped and then started up again; that ещё раз is like "one more time"; and that опять is best used in emotional contexts like, "You're late again?!?"

Снова has the same root as новый, новизна, новинка,
which means 'new'. So 'anew' is relevant to снова.
Опять is of unknown origin. I believe we use опять when we are annoyed by the repetition of some unnesessary event. Especially when second syllable is long: опя-я-я-я-ть...
