...кросавчег.

i have been following some of the "превед кросавчег" pictures that are all over the internet...but i still don't know where the word кросавчег comes from or what connotations it has. i realize it might be offensive, and so i apologize if anyone is offended, but i really want to know what word it comes from/what meaning it has.

It's not offensive, rather slangy and sarcastic.

In some contexts, the word "кросавчег" ("красавчик") means "hey, look at him!" and expresses some ironical attempt to evaluate the person by what he/she said.

how do you follow / find "превед кросавчег" pictures?

it's a sarcastic "well, hello to you, lover-boy"

take a look at those pictures and you'll notice that "превед кросавчег" is an unexpected guest's cue. It's like when you're having good time, relaxing, taking pleasure etc (caring about nothing) and smb suddenly appears saying "well-well-well, darling... " and spoils everything... :-)

And the way it's written ("кросавчег") is close to "красавчик's" transcription. this Russian blog slang is mostly about simplifying the language, about giving the word it's actual or alternative spelling (usually close to its transcription)...

it's just like you'd bastardize English and whrite "ai em tu leizi tu spel korektli" )
