apartment search
Jun. 12th, 2006 02:50 pmHi everyone,
I'm moving to Irkutsk, Russia next year, and I'm trying to find an apartment, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the abbreviations on the realty websites I've found. Could anyone tell me what the abbreviations on top of the columns on this website mean? Also, what does "т.р." mean exactly in the price column?
Thanks!!
update: link fixed!
another update: it seems these apartments are for sale, not for rent...

Date: 2006-06-12 07:58 pm (UTC)Owning apartments outright is actually the norm in Russia
Date: 2006-06-12 08:23 pm (UTC)If you're brave enough, some Russians are now getting what are effectively mortgages to help pay for their apartments. Though I don't know how much something like that will be available in a city as far afield as Irkutsk.

Date: 2006-06-12 09:06 pm (UTC)http://dom-irk.ru/ (hover your mouse over the word "аренда" (=rent) at the top of the page and then click the "квартиры" (=apartaments) word)
you'll see the list of flats for rent
if you hover over any abbreviation for few seconds you'll get the meaning of this abbreviation
for expample "М" is for "материал" (=material)
and set of materials: К = кирпич, brick; П = панель, panel; Д = дерево, wood; Б = брус, bar; Ш = шлакозаливной, slag
and so on)

Date: 2006-06-23 06:13 am (UTC)Actually, you can't find real information on the real estate agency's websites. Apartments are rented in short time after propose, so offen agency don't even try to post the information on the website.
The price in real life can differ from the website ones. :)
And also the price varies from the district very much. In the most prestige district (Октябрьский) the price today is 10 000 rubles in month for 1-room apartment. In the least prestige district it can be 4 000 rubles in month for the same apartment.
So be careful and... welcome to Irkutsk!
