"избави от лукавого", is this correct and does it translate to "deliver us from evil"?

Also, does "лукавого" translate to something other than "sly"? That's what I'm getting although it doesn't seem quite right.

I hope I'm making sense..

It's a biblical phrase, something like 'devil may evade us'
Лукавый - is a euphemism for devil.

Well, not exactly, yeah.
Due to proneness to superstitions combined with an orthodox christian attitude, Russians have a lot of euphemisms of this kind.

Note that лукавого is the genitive case, masculine singular form -- the "dictionary entry" (nominative case, masculine singular) is лукавый. Yes, it means "sly," and yes, it is an euphemism for the devil (as well as, for example, нечистый, "unclean"; there's quite a lot of words to describe Satan in Russian without naming him.)

Note that those versions do not exactly match. English translation, as far as I know, was made from Latin (at least the King John's Bible,) while the modern Russian translation you mention was made in 19th century directly from Greek and Aramaic originals.
