Hey folks. This might not be the right place for this question, but I'm not sure where else to ask.

In America, smoking hookah or nargila (in Russian, Кальян) is getting very popular. I've seen several places here in Moscow that are also popular, but they also seem to cost upwards of 400r. I get the feeling I'm just looking in the wrong place. Are there any such establishments which cost less than, say, 200r?

Also, what are some useful words for ordering? They seem to do it a bit differently here than in America, and I don't terribly want to get hashish in my hookah accidentally.

i know a place. it's called "Campus" ("Кампус")
it's near the Peoples' Friendship University (РУДН)
i'm not sure but i think the nargila costs 200 r.

Have you found the restaurant Кальян at Mendeleevskaia? Come out of the perexod on the east side of Novoslobodskaia ulitsa (Druzhba side) and go to the alley behind the large building just south of the metro exit. It seems to me that a hookah was 250r, but that was last year and I make no promises about the effects of inflation ;)

It is indeed not far from you. Which korpus are you in? You can get my email from wilson if you have trouble finding it. It's in the alley behind a large building, like I said, and not all that easy to see.

I was at RGGU last year, that's how I met him. Why don't you ask HIM how he knows joliecanard? ;)
