my guess the source is that:

And, I think to translate "бабачит" as "to drone" would be almost fine...
Something like low-voice "ба-ба-ба-ба", muttering...

And you want find that word anywhere else :)

Actualy a little reserch give another defenition of бабачить - to heal with herbs. It is a word from cossack's language, which is mostly mix of Russian and Ukrainian.
But it is defenitly not the case here :)

BTW in modern language "бабабчит и тычит" sometimes (very rare!) is used as euphemism for dictatorial rule.
