hello ..how can I translate "Remember I love you and I'll always watch over you" ?
the " I love you " is not for a lover but for a friend, but we were a couple so let's say there'll be always a connection between us as if he was my brother or my son ..I don't know if it's clear..in Italian I love you can be translated in many different ways and everyone has a slighty different meaning and I don't know how it is in Russian!

lit. "Remember: I (still) love you and I will always be near".
I don't know the way to translate "watch over you" literally. Nor is there a special word for a friend's love. There is a word "нравиться" ("ты нравишься мне" = "I like you") but it doesn't suit here.

You can also say "люблю тебя как брата" ("love you like a brother") or "люблю тебя как друга" ("love you as a friend").

i think that this word will suit the meaning of the whole phrase.

In russian "I love you", means not only "I love you as a lover".
It can mean I worry about you,I sympathize you, You means much to me and so on. Russians can say "I love you" to their friends or relatives, not only to their lovers.

You can say to a very close friend that you love him/her but it might be understood improperly (depends on the person).

"присматривать за тобой" - this is a bad, very bad word-to-word translation =))

Dictionaries say that "watch over" means "хранить". So it could perhaps mean "хранить твой образ в своём сердце".

nopes it is not about keeping an image it is about caring, but we have no good russian word for that...

yep. "люблю" is really what "ti amo" is in Italian. we have nothing fitting "ti voglio bene". what i suggested was "you are dear to me", i think this is as close as it gets for friends.

я люблю - sometimes it can be said, but in some funny tone.. as "чувак, ты реально клевый перец, я тя люблю"
wrong orphography and adding funny reason could make я тебя люблю friend-situation fitting...

"Лидка, у тебя офигенные идеи, я тя люблю"

but it's not for your case, i guess
