Test yourself: How well do you know Russian by completing this sentence:

После открытия века следует открытие другого века. Это называется "_______".

Post your answers in the comments :D

I don't know how to complete the sentence.
Just in case - Russian is my native language.

The sentence doesn't make sense.
FYI, "открытие века" means "the discovery of a century".

Neither do I. Frankly, I have problems even to understand this sentence. maybe, it would be better to change "открытие" for "начало".
But anyway, I cannot remember the specific word for a New Year day between two centuries ;-).
Russian is my native language too.

Сандвич!

I don't speak Russian. I ran the sentence through babelfish and it didn't make sense to me, but that's not unusual. So, I like the way that one sounds at the end of it.

Being a bit obsessive, I like to fill in the blanks.

Thanks for the fun!

Being a native Russian speaker didn't help me either...

Please note that the working language of this community is English. It's OK to (occasionally) post in Russian but then you are expected to provide an English translation and, if you are quoting something, ideally the source of the quote. Thanks in advance.

I don't really think translation will be of any use, but the source is http://www.mult.ru/_f/multz/150.swf

I had a variant "проснуться", but someone named the right answer. It took me a while to find the answer, though. I'm native ;-)

It took me a few setence to get an idea of what the sentence meant. I can't figure out the answer though...Is "Мерцать" the answer?

I agree with previous posts of native speakers, being one myself.
The joke has nothing to do with knowing Russian well.
Would suit better in a brainteaser community or something like that...
