Hello,

I'm trying to translate some of the bard Timur Shaov's works. I'm having trouble with the title of one, called О кризисе древнегреческой государственности. Does anyone have any ideas on how to translate this? Specifically, what does древнегреческой mean?

Nice choice, by the way - I don't know how much of his humor you'll be able to catch, but his vocabulary is excellent and his songs are quite witty and funny.

Thanks. He's actually at my college now as something of a visiting professor. I'm in a class he's conducting on the Russian bard, and I'm translating some of his songs for a concert next week.

Wow, which college is that? I wouldn't mind sitting on some of his lessons myself - I wonder if he's half as funny in conversation as he is in his songs. I do like them - and it's quite an accomplishment, since I like very little of contemporary Russian music of any genre.

It's Grinnell College, but he's been touring around the states quite a bit since he got here.
