Answering Machine
Mar. 20th, 2006 10:32 pmI teach ESL classes to old Russian folks, partly, as a way to practice speaking Russian. I want to reprogram my answering machine to include a message in Russian, in case any of them need to call me, they will know whats going on. Anyway, having never called any Russian-speaking persons answering machine, I don't know the appropriate idioms. Please, help me out. I've included some minimal guesses.
"Hi, you have reached David"
* Здравствуйте, ????
"I am not home right now"
* Сейчас меня нет дома. (Sounds really weird to me.)
"Please leave a message ..."
* ????
"And I will call you back later"
* ... а я вам перезвоню попоже.
Thanks so much!
David.
