Here is a compilation that might be interesting to the more advanced learners:
1001 избранный советский политический анекдот

Of course, there are lot of cultural, historical and political references.
This will be a good backgrounder.
It's in English, so it might be useful even for the less advanced learners.

I wonder, how many of you can appreciate this one:

- Что такое КПСС?1
- Набор глухих согласных.

1 КПСС - Коммунистическая Партия Советского Союза.

Thanks for the link.

I once wrote that one can't really rely on wikipedia. I stand corrected. It does have good articles.

You have absolutely no reasons to stand corrected.
The statements "one can't really rely on wikipedia" and "It does have good articles" are not mutually exclusive.
In fact, they are both true.

you're right. i meant to say that besides those unreliable articles, there are ones you can trust as the article on jokes demonstrates.

Kind of funny, but quite a shameless attempt to "academize" the topic, which hardly deserve a status of international cultural phenomenon.
In fact, this is a good example of how the judgements could be distorted and manipulated by allowing unprofessional and biased compilations masquerade as trustworty sources.

Besides, some of translations to English are obviously made using the MGIMO dialect.

Sure, but it's already an interesting to read yet very deep.

I've fixed a few places where MGIMO dialect were obvious, but there is still a way to go.
