Does the verb забыть follow some general conjugation pattern for the future tense? Since the stem does not end in a vowel that I am used to seeing (а, е, и, я, o, у), I am left a bit confused.

Same as быть.

Забуду, забудешь, etc.

Absolutely. It is for-get in English, but for-be (за-быть) in Russian :))
