привет! My name is Melanie– I stumbled upon this community through a friend's journal. My family recently adopted 2 children (ages 7 and 8) from Russia. I was able to go to Russia along with my parents to pick up the kids, and through that experience, and living with two Russian speaking children, I have picked up a good bit of Russian. However, I am still very new at all this, and look forward to learning more from you all!

Welcome -- PS, that's great about adopting children from Russia. We know a family who adopted two girls just a little bit older than yours, and the girls are so happy. They are a little behind mentally because of the unfortunate orphanage situation in Russia, but they learn very quickly. I hope your ... siblings?? ... adjust well to the new environment. I was adopted too! 17 years ago, of course...
