Hey everyone! I ama first year Russian student, considering Russian language as a major. Anyways, I'v ebeen looking around for a Cyrillic font that (when installed), would type on teh same keys as a normal Russian-language keyboard (i.e. not the English letters corresponding with the way the Russian lettedrs sound, etc.). Does anyone know of a good site where I could download one? Thanks in advance! <3

Have you first tried installing it on your computer, in the language section of the control panel? The Russian-language keyboard is an option. That is what I did. I also have a Windows XP, but I'm not sure how to do it with a Mac. I hope that is helpful.

i haven't tried yet... how easy is it to switch back and forth? and on that note, how do you switch from Russian keyboard to English and vice versa?

Pretty easy. In windows, it creates a little icon on your toolbar (over by where your clock is) that says "En." When you click on it, you can choose Russian ("Ru") or any other language you've installed on your computer.

That's how I do it. I like Times New Roman in cyrillic, but I haven't messed around with fonts yet much.

I've found that the Alt+Shift keyboard shortcut is the best way to toggle; you can customize this within the Control Panel->Regional and Language Options menu.

That's convenient... but it happens that the majority of the time I want to switch, I'm already using my mouse. :c)

Download the phonetic keymap, and then a becomes a, i becomes и etc :)

to switch back and forth, you can also (if you have windows) click Alt+Shift.
