I studied Russian for about 5 and a half years in high school and the university I'm going to doesn't offer any courses on the Russian language at all. It's been 2 and a half years since I graduated and I'm desperately looking for some way to get the language back in my life. I work at summer camp where most of the kitchen staff comes from Russia or formerly Russian speaking countries so I talk with them during the summer. But I woke up this morning after trying to explain to my boyfriend what cases were on the phone and realized I had completely forgotten instrumental case... which is remarkable because that was my favorite one (because I always knew when to use it). Anyways does anyone have recommendations for getting the Russian language back into my life because I really miss it.

The best way is to go to Russia. The easiest one is to find a Russian speaking pen-friend. Reading is not bad, as well as sattelite TV. If you can combine it all.. ;>>

You know, Russians say: Кто хочет - ищет возможность. Кто не хочет - ищет причину (a reason why it's impossible) ;>>
Anyway, you have time still.
And the idea of a Russian JL friend seems to make sense. You'll get a bounch of new colloquial words for sure>>

(sorry, there was an error in my previous comment) I would like to remind that the working language of this community is English. On the other hand, there is [livejournal.com profile] practicerussian community where you can post in Russian and people are welcome to comment and correct you in any language they like.

The easiest way is to find Russian-speaking friends, for example here in LiveJournal. You can read any LJ in Russian.

There are a lot of Russian-speaking people now in America. Try to find those, who live in your neighbourhood :). I guess, it's easy.

These two are voice communicators... so I meant not typing, but a conversation.

If you don't have russian keyboard layout you can easily make some russian word stickers (for example from colored scotch tape) and put them into your keyboard.
I can send you photo of russian layout for this.

И ты в самом деле должен стараться писать по русски (and you really have to try write on russian)
