Please help.
Oct. 25th, 2005 07:46 pmI need your help. My Russian friend got arrested for working on a tourist visa here in Japan. She's being detained in this horrible, horrible immigration jail. We don't know how long she's going to be held for, and I'm trying to help her the best I can, but right now the only thing I can really do to help is to take her stuff to relieve her boredom and try to keep her occupied to keep her from going crazy in there.
The only Russian magazine I can find here is Vogue, and I already took that to her yesterday. I'm going to an international bookstore this weekend because I heard they have some Russian books there, but for now, I'm looking for reading material in her language that I could print and take to her. Could you please help me? Do you know of any websites that have PRINTABLE (not so many pictures that take up paper space, etc) Russian stories or interesting reading material? (She is also Estonian, so that would be ok too, just in case anyone here has anything..) In the situation that she's in now, I'm sure she's not going to be very picky about the content... she's a very intelligent girl, interested in kickboxing, travelling, and she was studying business... I dunno what else to add.... just... anything to keep her occupied would be great. I would prefer to send her happy stories, not depressing ones. She understands English, but I'm sure that reading stuff in her own language would help her feel even a little bit less lonely.
Also, if you wanna write to her in Russian and show some love and support, PLEASE do! I'll print your letters and give them to her. I know she would really appreciate that.
Please reply here, or if you have anything in word documents you can send me, my email is jinxcrayonbrain AT hotmail DOT com .
THANK YOU for reading this. If I've broken rules, I'm sorry... mods can decide whether to delete or not. Crossposted to a bunch of Russian communities.... thank you.

And... I it would be nice if you wrote you friends' first name, I would perhaps write something but I don't know how to adress her.
