A very silly question

Hello again,

Recently a friend commented to me to 'Pull your head out of your @$$.' Since then I have wondered if Russian offers a phrase of similar meaning. As you can imagine, this is not the sort of question that can be asked in polite college russian language classes. If I have violated some taste rule by asking this, I apologize.

A kind of "раскрой глаза!" (quite polite).
Contextually it would be "не тупи!","не тормози!", "проснись!".

Can also be "Разуй глаза!" for something your company fails to see or "Вынь бананы из ушей!" for something he/she fails to hear.

You could translate this literally, but, as almost any word-by-word translation, it wouldn't work. algyschit's versions are quite good.

A simple "ау-у!" would do. To make it more expressive, vary the pitch from low to high to middle, something like C-A-F if we use notes :-)
