тут vs. вот
Sep. 24th, 2005 09:24 amHow does тут differ from вот?
Here is the house. Тут дом.
Here is the house. Вот дом.
The house is here. Дом тут.
Дом вот.
I am asking because I am sure there is a (not so?) subtle difference in meaning that I am failing to notice.

Date: 2005-09-24 04:55 pm (UTC)Grammatically, "вот" is a particle, "тут" is an adverb.
In Latin "вот дом" = "ecce domus", "тут дом" = "hic est domus".
