"стопы" stands for brakelights here, not octogonal signs.

yeah but that's why it's "STOPы"
they mean "STOP" as in stop sign
and it looks funny

[stop] sign is extremely rude in Israel. the reason is that since hebrew reads from right to left, the [stop] sign could be easily read as [pots], which is the same word as "falloimitator" (or whatever you call it in colloq english)

i mean it's just internationally accepted as "STOP"
just about any israeli will automatically read
english from left to right, so unless they are dislexic,
there shouldn't be any confusion.
