Aug. 17th, 2005 12:40 pmHello! Don't beat me for my first post like this :)
I found this community and it is really interesting for me 'cause I'm russian and I see that I'm not the first here :) So hello also to my compatriots! It's always very curious to see how people learn your native language :)
My name is Lena, I'm 21 and live in St.Petersburg, Russia.
I know that our language is difficult, so if somebody needs help, i can explain something :)
Instead, if somebody here could help me with Italian or Croatian languages I will appreciate it!
And good luck in your studies!

Date: 2005-08-17 11:36 pm (UTC)try to say a word "rabbit" very sharply and loud like you hate all the rabbits - then maybe you'll see the difference :) or imagine lion's roar - it's like russian P - "RRR!"
The second letter is written as X, but "kha" - it's the name of the letter and its' sound is like english "h". in english it's usually not pronounced, but in russian you need to pronounce it. like in word "xop" = "chorus"
Then, about letters Ш and Щ
The first, Ш is the same as english sound "sh". like in word "shy" for example
Щ has more soft sound. like in word "shiver" for example.
if you could see the difference in would be great :) i believe that for not native speakers it's difficult.
I hope you will be successful in your studies :) Sorry if i couldn't explain something properly.. But i hope it will help you. If you have some other questions or you need better explanation, don't hesitate to ask.
