Following in the footsteps of other diligent Russian learners in this community, I have decided to make a livejournal account just for writing in Russian. So if any of you have time, please please add naverna_nyet and help me with my written Russian. :D!

Also, would it be feasible to create something like a list of Russian journals of the Russian learners, for reference, in case people feel inclined to offer their language expertise? I don't know if there are enough people who have created separate Russian (practice writing sort of) journals that it would be necessary for a list though. Just an idea.

Perhaps you could create a community for people who have created journals solely for practicing their Russian? That way, Russian speakers who are looking to help could browse them using the friends page -- and see all of them at once.

It depends on the community. I doubt this type of community would take much work; you'd just have to look at the members once in a while to make sure everyone's journal fit the guidelines.

Out of curiosity -- did you misspell наверное ("navernoe") on purpose? I mean, "naverna" is how you would say it, but in written form it looks like "Mr. Navern is not here" :)

No, it's not a noun, so it shouldn't be declined. I guess "наверно" is also correct, though I've always seen it used as "наверное нет". E.g. googling "наверное нет" returns 46,000 hits, while "наверно нет" returns 7,000.

«Наверно» is slightly on the colloquial side, so there are contexts in which «наверно» is too colloquial, and contexts in which «наверное» is too formal, but in most cases they're completely interchangeable.

I came across your journal and it inspired to create one of my own for the sole purpose of practicing writing. I am one of those people who studied Russian in university in the summers, but never lived there. There is a good chance that I'll be going to Russia this fall, so I'm trying to get into the practice of writing and reading colloquial Russian (i.e., not Russian news)... So thanks.
